Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, Shruti Jhaveri has been creating unique paper sculptures out of intensive experimenting and research. She says, “This hunger to learn has made me adapt in different situations, using elements I studied. The love of dancing, music, has given me a skill of confidence to create, innovate and express better.” Shruti wishes to visually create life’s basic principles; notions such as harmony, positivity , growth and translate them into a sense of coral reef formations using ecological sustainable materials. The mixed media sculptures on the wall depict the gorgeousness of nature; the polyp!
Shruti recently introduced two eclectic ranges of paper sculptures viz. ‘The Five Elements’ and ‘ The Fragile Terrains’. While Fragile Terrains is inspired from the corals of the seabed, The five elements as name suggests, takes it cues from fire, earth, water, wood and air.
Shruti Jhaveri lives and works in Mumbai, India, since 2003.
